what kind of soil should I use for a fruit bearing potted/Bonsai tree?
My grandpa has a dwarf lemon tree and I thought it would be cool if I grew my own. I looked em up and sure enough people have used dwarf lemons as indoor potted plants (not sure about bonsai) and outdoor potted decorations. I was looking at Miracle-Gro but they have a soil for potted veggies (not fruits) and a soil for trees….
If you have any specific brand which will work that would be great. Kinda can’t just dig up my yard because it is a rental property.
get a good organic or commercial soil mix (don’t get the cheap stuff it’s just black peat with some perlite) or just go to a greenhouse and get some topsoil..

Haitian Laughter $36 Haitian Laughter is constructed around the lodyans, a narrative genre that has blossomed in Haiti as an art of miniatures. The substantial reduction in scale that presides over their creation allows only the significant features to remain, like a medieval illumination, a Japanese bonsai, or simply a small-sized map of an immense territory. This makes each miniature a “dwarf-sized saga,” which lets us glimpse the larger dimension of the original of which it is a reduced model. |

Ontario’s Old-Growth Forests $27.34 Who would have thought that dwarf cedar trees growing on the Niagara Escarpment could live to be nearly 2000 years old. Or that the small bonsai cedars lining the shorelines of the Canadian shield measure their ages in centuries. Old growth pine trees in Temagami are often over 10 stories tall, but these are young sprouts compared to trees of yesteryear, which were as much as 20 stories high. Ontario”s old growth forests are fantastical and mysterious, but who knows where to find one. Most people in this province live within an hour”s drive of an old growth forest, but do not know it. The ecology of these stands is engrossing. Fire scars on these trees, for example, provide an indisputable record of forest fire activity in Ontario. Small hemlock saplings, over 100 years old, have been growing at infinitesimal rates, waiting for a gap to open in the forest canopy. |
