Even Though the Japanese people may popularized the bonsai tree, Chinese people were the first to make it an art. Renowned for their tiny size and wirey design, Bonsai Trees are most often grown in small, shallow pots. Jaopanese Bonsai trees can be either evergreens or deciduous plant
The evidence points to the practice of bonsai beginning around the time of the Han Dynasty from China. Historically it starts somewhere from 206 B.C to 220 A.D. The story points to an emperor of that period started a private landscape of bonsai trees in his garden.
Japan has aquired many of the cultural aspects of Chinese society and culture. Somewhere between 1185-1333, Chinese monks brought the Bonsai Art to Japan.
Similar to the Han Dynasty, only the wealthy was able to benefit from the Art Of Bonsai. Since this was only for nobility the bonsai became something of prestige
During the 1600-1700′s, Japanese arts reached their peak and bonsai trees continued its growth in popularity.
Being an island country, Japan was internationally isolated through most of its history. Japan opened its closed society to foreigners for the first time in the 1800′s

Trimming
The difference between pruning a normanl plant and a bonsai tree attention need to be given to both the top and bottom In other words we prune not just the tops to keep them looking sharp but the roots as well.
Pruning the roots restricts the size as well as the amount of water and nutrients the tree can take in. It’s Obvious this keeps the bonsai tree from growing big. Therefore we know it is important to maintain the top and bottoms of the bonsai tree
What’s next on the prunning list? Cutting back the top of the bonsai tree is done for several reasons
So that branches grow in a particular direction
To keep the trees overall look and style
This is about style because without good shape you will have a planet that looks like a tree.
Controlling the size of the roots is not done for specifc asthaetic reasons, for they are not visible outside the pot. As stated previously the roots give the majority of nutrients for the plant.
